Welcome to the
Baytown Area Quilt Guild...

Our Guild was established in early 1984 by two quilters,
Rosallene "Rosie" Bradshaw and Dixie Rebstock.  Since the Guild's beginning, we have steadily grown and today the membership is approximately 175 strong.

The main goal of the Guild is to promote, educate and preserve the art of quilt-making.  Monthly meetings provide an opportunity for the members to pursue these goals through lectures, trunk shows, demonstrations and workshops by national speakers renowned throughout the quilting industry.

We strive to meet community service needs in our areas; a few of our recent projects include providing needs to the Ronald McDonald House in Galveston, Crisis Pregnancy Center and Azleway.  Our members give generously to these organizations as well as others.

The Baytown Area Quilt Guild meets the 1st Monday of each month at:

St. Mark's United Methodist Church
3811 North Main Street
Baytown, Texas

Refreshments/Pre-Meeting activities begin at 6:30 p.m.
General Meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. followed by a Special Interest Program.

We invite you to become an active participant and hope that you will visit us soon.

April Meeting
April 6, 2009

Our April speaker is Alice Wilhoit. Alice has been teaching since 1987 in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex as well as other parts of the US, in Canada, and on cruises. She designs both traditional pieced and appliquéd quilts.

Her program for us will be “A Light Hearted Trunk Show.” Her real specialty is teaching the art of appliqué. If you have not already done so,
you might want to check with Janie McCall to see if there is a space open in the Tuesday, April 7 workshop.
